Zagat Ratings for Rocking Horse Mexican Restaurant

“Fresh”, “modern” Mexican fare and “fantastic” cocktails are what keep this “vibrant” Chelsea vet “bustling”; “reasonable” tabs and “quick” (some say “rushed”) service offset “cramped” digs and “rocking” noise levels; P.S. the $15 brunch prix fixe is an “amazing bargain.”

This is some of the most imaginative Mexican cuisine being served in Manhattan. There isn't a single cliche on the menu. Fresh, designer-brand meats, lively seasoning and expressive presentation make for a memorable meal in a very casual setting. Much has been said about the fabulous drinks, so I'll just agree. Best pre-Joyce Theater restaurant hands down. Fun. Fun. Fun.

Best Mexican in NYC! I've been here for brunch, lunch, and dinner. All amazingly delicious. I am an event planner and have used them for catered events as well. Presentation is always beautiful. Its not the usual chicken & cheese in a tortilla. It's the classics you love with an elegant twist. Great taste composition. Atmosphere is fun but intimate. Amazing drinks and great friendly service!

We visited Rocking Horse for brunch. I ordered the pancakes, which were unique and very crunchy and yummy. My husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich, which was just made in heaven! The avocado and the pork literally melted in your mouth. Since then we have frequently visited Rocking Horse whenever we met up with friends for brunch, and all our friends loved the place. Highly recommended!

This is the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to in the U.S. The food is exquisite! Of course the ambience and the service also make the entire experience terrific. We were so happy with the food and service that we held an event there with some of our top donors. Finally, they are socially responsbile business in their volunteerism and philanthropy.

Delicioso flavors in every dish. Blown away by the pulled pork appetizer with comtija cheese and caramelized onions! Pleasantly surprised by real corn tamale in the yummy shrimp appetizer. The frozen pineapple and prickly pear margarita is a knockout. Don't miss the chili crusted tuna entree and save room for the drop-dead banana tres leches dessert. Excelente!
