Small-Batched with Love – Gran Centenario® at Next Tuesday's Tequila Tasting!

April 5, 2016, 5-8pm

Experience a tasting of three amazing, small-batch Gran Centenario tequilas, matured using hand-crafted techniques dating back to 1895. Brand Ambassador Matan Steinfeld will escort you through the tasting, Gran Centenario's family-run distillation process and he'll share how their Plata (Silver) Tequila gets its beautiful straw color.

$15 for the flight consisting of Plata, Reposado and Añejo Tequilas — regularly $18

Why We Love Gran Centenario
Gran Centenario produces Mexico's most award-winning, ultra-premium tequilas. Named in 1895 to commemorate the turn of the new century, Gran Centenario has remained family-owned and continues to be hand-crafted in small batches at Hacienda Los Camichines in Jalisico, Mexico. The finest 100 % blue agave Tequila is harvested from plants that range from 10-12 years. More mature than the average 6 years standard, it is also grown in the Highlands where the soil is richer. The Tequila matures in never before used French Limousin oak barrels for optimum flavor and is then blended with aged tequila reserves for the most unbelievably smooth and rich taste.

Making Tequila the Old Fashioned Way – Hacienda Corralejo at Next Tuesday's Tequila Tasting!

March 22, 2016, 5-8pm. Information for our April 5th tasting to follow!

Join us to learn how Hacienda Corralejo has been preserving and refining their artisan tequila-making process since 1775. Brand Ambassador Gustavo Valverde will share about their history and 400-year-old Charantais distillation process, as well guide you through a tasting of three extraordinary tequilas.

$15 for the flight consisting of Silver, Reposado and Añejo Tequilas — regularly $18

About Hacienda Corralejo
Hacienda Corralejo, founded in 1755, was the first estate in Mexico to produce tequila as a commercial venture. For nearly 250 years, the distillation methods of Tequila Corralejo have been preserved, refined and developed into a skilled craft only attainable by master artisans of tequila making.

Made from only the finest handpicked 100% Blue Weber Agave, Tequila Corralejo's flavor is rich, natural, and unsurpassed in quality and personality. Their agave is slow cooked the old-fashioned way in stone clay ovens for 27 hours.

The Tequila Corralejo distillation process is unique because they use a mixture of column stills and Alambic copper pot stills imported from Tomelloso, Spain. Tequila Corralejo employs the 400-year-old Charantais method of distillation, the same method perfected by the French in distilling cognac, which allows for exceptional retention of aroma and flavor.

Each barrel of Tequila Corralejo is sampled by the regulating council of Tequila before and after aging to ensure the highest quality tequila is brought to you. Owner and Master Distiller, Don Leonardo designs and produces the unique bottles for each tequila.

Join us for our Cuaresma Menu, March 18-25th, 2016

Cuaresma, which comes from the word cuarenta, meaning "40", is one of the most important holidays of the year for Mexicans of Catholic faith. For 40 days and nights, Cuaresma is a time of simple living, reflection and thankfulness. It is also a time of penitence, with many giving up meat on Fridays, and substituting fish and other vegetarian dishes to honor their faith.

Cuaresma is celebrated throughout Mexico with a menu that includes early spring vegetables, sweet and piquant roasted beets, and fragrant seafood dishes with savory herbs and moles. Even a true carnivore will indulge!

Our Cuaresma menu features delicious seafood and vegetarian inspired dishes like Smoked Trout and Potato Croquettes with horseradish-epazote cream. As a special treat, our hearty aromatic Rice Pudding with toasted coconut flakes, dried ginger and golden raisins will take you back to a humble comfort food favorite – enjoyed on both sides of the border.
